At 6pm tomorrow, October 19, 2022, Dr. Medina returns to discuss the Three Goals of Dual Language (Las tres metas de un programa de educación dual). This Zoom event is open to all B-ESD families. This is a one-hour workshop designed to help families understand the three goals of dual language. The three goals of DL are the foundation of any successful program. This Sunday at Skagit Valley College acclaimed English-born Mexican director Trisha Ziff will be presenting her documentary Oaxacalifornia: El regreso (Oaxacalifornia: The Return): https://212berlin.com/project/oaxacalifornia-el-regreso
The Return revisits the Mejía family twenty-five years after they were first portrayed negotiating their place in a new environment, digging deep into the complexities of multi-generational immigrant identities and the nuances of both belonging and otherness to become a moving epic about the fabric of the US.
Come to SVC to watch this documentary; families are welcomed. Entrance is free and the event will be happening at the college cafeteria in the Cardinal Center in Mount Vernon. The documentary will be in Spanish with English subtitles.

Later today, NASA's long-awaited DART mission will test an asteroid deflection system by hitting a double asteroid 24,000 miles away from Earth.
