What is dual language?
Burlington-Edison is proud to offer a 50/50 Spanish/English two-way dual-language program at West View Elementary. Both native Spanish speakers (and bilingual students) and native English speakers make up the kindergarten classes. Half of the student’s day is instruction in English, and the other half is instruction in Spanish. Students receive literacy instruction in both languages. 

¿Qué es el lenguaje dual?
Burlington-Edison se enorgullece de ofrecer un programa de lenguaje dual de dos idiomas Español/Inglés 50/50 en la Primaria West View. Los estudiantes en las clases de kindergarten están conformados por estudiantes hispanohablantes nativos (y bilingües) y estudiantes de lengua materna Inglés. La instrucción se imparte la mitad del tiempo en Inglés y la otra mitad del tiempo en Español y se divide por área de contenido. Los estudiantes reciben instrucción de lectoescritura en ambos idiomas. 

Who should attend?
Families of students attending kindergarten in the fall of 2024 are interested in learning more about the benefits and foundations of a dual-language program. They would like more information on the dual-language enrollment process. This is a REQUIRED meeting for families to be considered for entry into the dual-language kindergarten program at West View Elementary. 

¿Quién debe asistir?
Familias de estudiantes que van a asistir a kindergarten en el otoño de 2024 que están interesadas en aprender más sobre los beneficios y los fundamentos de un programa de dos idiomas y desean más información sobre el proceso de inscripción al programa de dos idiomas. Esta es una reunión OBLIGATORIA para las familias que desean ser consideradas para ingresar al programa de kindergarten de dos idiomas en West View. 

When is the meeting?
We hold one parent meeting in March and one in April. Please attend ONE of these meetings. 

¿Cuándo es la reunión?
Habrá una reunión de padres en marzo y una en abril. Solo necesita asistir a UNA reunión. 

• WEDNESDAY, March 13th, 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm / MIÉRCOLES, 13 de marzo 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm 

• WEDNESDAY, April 17th, 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm West View Elementary / MIÉRCOLES, 17 de abril 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm Primaria de West View
