B-ESD Community Eligibility Form

Great news for you and your students! All enrolled students of Burlington‐Edison Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school again this year at no charge!

CEP is the Community Eligibility Provision. It is the program Burlington‐Edison School District runs to offer free meals to all students at school for the 2023‐2024 school year. B-ESD is able to participate in this program thanks to the passage of a bill in the Washington Legislature in 2022.

Although meals are free to all students this school year, filling out the Family Income Survey helps ensure school funding is maintained for essential programs. Students who qualify can get added benefits like waived sports & testing fees, community discounts, and many others. The USDA has developed the Family Income Survey to collect the information to ensure the district receives all the funding it is entitled to for state‐funded education programs. Please take the time to fill out the attached B-ESD 2023‐24 Family Income Survey and return it to your school office. Filling out the survey helps ensure school funding is maintained for essential programs.

All information on your application is confidential and will only be used for the meal program, unless you request to release the information. We respect your privacy.

It is important that you complete this survey. Please return this form to your school office by Monday, October 2, 2023, or to the Food Services Dept. at BESD the Axillary Building, 491 N. Burlington Blvd., Burlington, WA 9823.

The survey was sent home at the beginning of the school year. You can also find a link to a downloadable version of the  survey here
