With snow in the forecast, we want to help students and families prepare for inclement weather and potential school and activities schedule changes. In general, if adverse weather is affecting the roads and bus routes, please be prepared for a 2-hour late start for schools.
Specific announcements regarding school delays or cancellations will be issued through the text or email accounts that we have on file in Skyward. For emergency situations like this, it is important that you keep those numbers current. We will use notifications via our mobile app, post updates on the district website as well as via our social media channels. You can also call the B-ESD Hotline at 360-542-3420, tune into local TV or Radio stations, or check online at https://www.flashalert.net/id/BurlingtonEdison. If school is canceled, the childcare partnerships held in our buildings with Boys and Girls Club and other partners are also canceled.

The Burlington-Edison School District is seeking qualified applicants for a full time, year round Building Maintenance position. Preference for candidates with a strong background/work history in plumbing and/or mechanical work. Priority given to applicants who have experience in steam or hydronic heating systems, backflow testing, or irrigation systems, and who have worked in schools or similar commercial settings. Demonstrated ability in preventative maintenance practices for all facilities, which may include carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, and other applicable skills. Must have a valid Washington state drivers license. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with staff, students, and the public. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent education, training, and experience that provides the required abilities and skills. On Friday October 11th, the combined high school choirs of Men's Choir, Treble Choir, Chorale, Advanced Women's Ensemble, and Highlighters performed the National Anthem at the Homecoming Assembly and Homecoming Football game. It was the choir's first public performance of the school year and we are so proud of the group collaboration they exhibited!

Yesterday, our amazing band students had the honor of performing for a very special occasion. 🎉 A Burlington resident celebrated their 103rd birthday at Where The Heart Is, and our students were invited to play 'Happy Birthday', along with several other tunes!
Dorris, the birthday guest of honor, was so thankful for the performance, and it truly made the celebration unforgettable! Thank you to the staff at Where The Heart Is for allowing our students to be part of this heartwarming moment.
