Dear Allen Families,
I want to wish all of you a happy February. By this time you are all aware of the upcoming school reconfiguration for the whole Burlington-Edison School District. If you are not yet aware, next year our middle school students will be housed at Lucille Umbarger School. Most of our current Allen Elementary students will be transitioning to either Bay View Elementary or Edison Elementary. You should have received a message communicating your child’s placement. If you have not, please contact the district office at (360)757-3311, or email the district via our district email: questions@be.wednet.edu. If you have any questions about this process and are unable to reach them, you can also contact us at Allen.
There is also an opportunity for our students who are currently in kindergarten through 4th grade to request placement in our dual language program. This will be housed at Allen Elementary and will include students and staff that are currently housed at West View Elementary. If you are interested in your child participating in this program, you can sign up for consideration by going to the https://www.be.wednet.edu/, then clicking on enrollment and filling out the In-District Transfer Request. If you have any questions about this process, we are offering an additional opportunity for our students who are currently in kindergarten through 4th grade to request placement in our dual language program that will be housed at Allen next year. Any parent, regardless of home language, will be offered this opportunity on February 11, 2025, at West View Elementary from 6:30 - 7:30 in the evening. If you are interested and have not already signed up, we hope to see you there.
In addition, if you are the parent of a 6th or 7th grader, please make sure to read the GEAR UP notice at the end of this newsletter. It is a great program that has been here at Allen for about a year. We also have an Allen Booster notice that offers additional family events and opportunities for our families. Thanks again for all you do to make sure your children come to school ready to learn.

February 11, 2025 - Dual Language Information Meeting at WestView Elementary - 6:30 - 7:30
February 14-17 2025 - President’s Holiday = No school
March 14, 2025 - End of the trimester = Half Day for grades K-6. (Half Day for those students)
April 3, 2025 - Parent/Teacher Conferences in the evening
There will be a one hour Early Release on every Wednesday of this month.

Quiero desearles a todos un feliz febrero. A esta altura, ya todos saben de la próxima reconfiguración escolar para todo el Distrito Escolar Burlington-Edison.
