IMPORTANT INFORMATION Back to School Fair The Burlington-Edison School District will sponsor our Annual Back to School Fair on August 22nd at Maiben Park from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. It is located at 1011 Greenleaf Ave, Burlington, WA 98233. K-5 Class Placement Lists: Class placements for all students will be available at the district’s Back to School Fair at Maiben Park. (See above) The following week we will also put this information in our school information system. If you wish to call our administrative team, feel free to call the school. We can answer your questions in both English and Spanish. If you have questions, please reach out to either Debby Juarez (English) or Judith Garcia (Spanish or English). If you would prefer support from our Bilingual Specialist in Spanish, please ask for Yolanda Farjardo. Our phone number is (360) 757-3322. Family Connections Conferences Once again this year we will provide Family Connections Meetings with all 1st-5th grade parents on September 2 and 3, 2026. Expect an email after August 26th with a link to register for a specific time slot with your child’s teacher. If you have a kindergarten student, your child's teacher will reach out and schedule a time to meet during the first week of school. Class Supply Lists This year the Burlington-Edison School District has committed to provide all students the necessary materials to be successful at school. This means that Bay View families will not need to purchase supplies for our students. I would like to give a special thank you to Burlington’s Citizen’s Advisory Committee for donating enough backpacks for any student who wants one. These backpacks will be handed out during our Back to School Fair at Maiben Park. While not required, I would like to note that it is helpful if each student has their own personal headphones labeled with their name. We will have a limited supply in the classrooms to share. If you wish to donate supplies or money to our all-school supply, you are welcome to do so by contacting Debby Juarez or Judith Garcia in our main office. School Meals are Free The district will be providing a free breakfast and lunch for all students throughout the district. This is optional and if your child wishes to bring their own food, that is fine as well. Breakfast food items will be offered first thing in the morning as students enter the building. |
(additional) IMPORTANT INFORMATION Regular School Hours School will be open at 9:00 with instruction starting at 9:15 every regular school day. If you arrive early, we request that you keep your child in your vehicle until 9:00. Our dismissal time will be at 3:35 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesdays are “Early Release Days” and we will dismiss students at 2:35. I would like to remind you that our first week of school will be half days. On half days, we will begin at the regular time, however, we will dismiss students at 12:35. We will be serving lunch on all half days. First Days of School: Half days for grades 1-5 As you know, the first day of school is September 2, 2025. From September 2nd through September 4th, all 1st through 5th grade students will attend school for half days. On these days we will begin at our regular time, however, our instructional day will conclude at 12:35. This allows us time in the afternoon for Family Connections Meetings with all 1st-5th grade parents. We will have our regular schedule starting on September 8, 2026. First Days of School: Kindergarten Please note that Kindergarten students are on a different schedule at the beginning of the year. The first day for all Kindergarten students is September 8th, 2026. During the first week of school for all the other students, kindergarten teachers will have time to conference with their families for more in depth conversations. Our teachers will be reaching out to you in the coming weeks to schedule this conference. First Days of School As a district, we are focused on providing a school environment that is both warm and inviting and safe for all students. As a result, we have implemented a policy that supports those parents who want to walk their children to their classrooms for the first two weeks of school. However, after this two week time period, we will return to a policy that requires all parents to check in at the main office and limits non-school employees from our classrooms without an invitation. This policy will start on September 21st for students in grades 1-5. It will start on September 28th for kindergarten students. While we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, we ask for your understanding as we work to ensure that student safety is our number one priority. Bus Transportation If your child will ride the bus to school, you should be contacted by our transportation department about your child’s bus route, complete with information about the location and scheduled pick-up and drop off times. If you have any questions about this process, please contact our Transportation Department at (360) 757-3386. This information will also be available at our Back to School Fair at Maiben Park in Burlington from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Prior to the first day of school, please share with your child and their teacher how they will get home at the end of the day. |

Dear Bay View Families,
I am excited to welcome you back to Bay View Elementary for another wonderful school year! I truly enjoyed getting to know so many of you last year, and I look forward to continuing to build strong relationships and partnerships with our families in support of all our students. Bay View is a special place, and as I prepare for the new school year alongside our teachers and building staff, I can already feel the energy and optimism that come with the start of a new year. We are looking forward to the learning, growth, and memories we will create together.
Last year, our staff took time to reflect on who we are as a school and what we believe is most important for our students. Through those conversations, we developed and committed to a shared mission for our work at Bay View Elementary. We are dedicated to creating a safe and caring learning environment where learning is essential and kindness and compassion are expected. We are also committed to empowering every Bay View student to grow socially, emotionally, and academically. We recognize that today's Bay View students will be tomorrow's leaders, and we are honored and excited to be part of their growth. As a principal, I am committed to making Bay View a place where everyone feels valued, welcomed, and knows they have a place in our school community.
Our students thrive when families and school work together, and building strong partnerships with our families will continue to be an important priority this year. One of our first opportunities to connect will be our annual Family Connections Conferences during the first week of school. These conferences will take place on September 2 and 3, 2026. Si bien lamentamos cualquier inconveniente que esto pueda ocasionar, solicitamos su comprensión, ya que nuestra prioridad absoluta es garantizar la seguridad de los estudiantes. Transporte en autobús Si su hijo/a viajará en autobús a la escuela, probablemente nuestro departamento de transporte le haya contactado para informarle sobre la ruta, la ubicación y los horarios de recogida y entrega. ¡Me complace darles la bienvenida nuevamente a Bay View Elementary para otro año escolar maravilloso! Disfruté mucho conociendo a tantos de ustedes el año pasado y espero seguir construyendo relaciones sólidas y colaboraciones con nuestras familias en beneficio de todos nuestros estudiantes. Bay View es un lugar especial y, mientras me preparo para el nuevo año escolar junto a nuestros maestros y el personal del centro, ya percibo la energía y el optimismo que trae consigo el inicio de un nuevo ciclo. Esperamos con ilusión el aprendizaje, el crecimiento y los recuerdos que crearemos juntos.
El año pasado, nuestro personal dedicó tiempo a reflexionar sobre quiénes somos como escuela y qué consideramos más importante para nuestros estudiantes. A través de esas conversaciones, desarrollamos y asumimos el compromiso de una misión compartida para nuestra labor en Bay View Elementary. Nos dedicamos a crear un entorno de aprendizaje seguro y acogedor, donde el aprendizaje es fundamental y se espera que prevalezcan la amabilidad y la compasión. También estamos comprometidos a empoderar a cada estudiante de Bay View para que crezca social, emocional y académicamente.
