Dear Bay View Families,
The crisp (and sometimes soggy) fall weather is upon us. October is ending and November is just around the corner and I am excited for all the great things that come with this time of year. I would like to let you know that we will be having evening conferences for some selected families on November 25, 2024. These conferences are for students that have particular academic concerns and may require additional parent / teacher collaboration to ensure student success. Each teacher will be selecting students for conferencing and contacting their parents to set up an appointment. While this conference time is only for a selected few students, if you ever have a concern and want to contact a teacher you may contact them and set up an appointment.
In a related message, we would like to let you know that if you need to meet with a school staff member, we do require that you check in at the office before entering the rest of the building. At the beginning of the year, kindergarten students were allowed to walk into the classrooms with a parent. Now that students are feeling more at home in their classrooms, we are asking for all parents to drop off their child at the front of the school. This is the rule across the district and has been implemented for safety reasons. We appreciate your cooperation with these new requirements.
Additionally, as we come to the end of October, I would like to let you know that our 5th grade student leadership group is organizing a school spirit week from October 27 to October 31. Each day of the week will have the following dress up themes.
Monday 10/27- Tropical Day
Tuesday 10/28- Silly Socks Day
Wednesday 10/29- Bay View Spirit Day
Thursday 10/30- Cozy Clothes Day
Friday 10/31- Character Day
On Friday your child’s class may have a Fall Harvest Celebration. If your child wishes to dress up for the occasion, I would also ask that they follow a few important guidelines. Please ensure that they refrain from wearing anything scary, anything that hides their face, or bring any type of toy weapon. I recognize that some may not want their children to participate in any fall celebration activities. If that is the case, please communicate with us in advance and your child will be excused. Thanks again for all you do to support our students. I am so happy to see so many students coming to school ready to learn and I know that that is due to your efforts. Thank you!

Octubre 2025
Estimadas Familias de Bay View,
Ya llegó el frío (y a veces lluvioso) clima otoñal. Octubre se acaba y noviembre está a la vuelta de la esquina, y estoy emocionado por todas las cosas buenas que trae esta época del año. Les informo que tendremos conferencias por la tarde para algunas familias seleccionadas el 25 de noviembre de 2024. Estas conferencias son para estudiantes con inquietudes académicas particulares y podrían requerir mayor colaboración entre padres y maestros para asegurar su éxito. Cada maestro seleccionará a los estudiantes para la conferencia y se comunicará con sus padres para programar una cita. Si bien esta conferencia es solo para algunos estudiantes seleccionados, si alguna vez tienen alguna inquietud y desean comunicarse con un maestro, pueden hacerlo y programar una cita.
En un mensaje relacionado, les informamos que, si necesitan reunirse con un miembro del personal escolar, deben registrarse en la oficina antes de entrar al resto del edificio. A principios de año, se permitía que los alumnos de kínder entraran a las clases acompañados de sus padres. Ahora que los alumnos se sienten más cómodos en sus salones, les pedimos a todos los padres que dejen a sus hijos en la entrada de la escuela. Esta es la norma en todo el distrito y se ha implementado por razones de seguridad. Agradecemos su cooperación con estos nuevos requisitos.
Además, a medida que nos acercamos al final de octubre, me gustaría informarles que nuestro grupo de liderazgo estudiantil de quinto grado está organizando una semana de espíritu escolar del 27 al 31 de octubre. Cada día de la semana tendrá los siguientes temas de disfraces.
lunes 10/27- dia tropical
martes 10/28- dia de calcetines locos
miércoles 10/29- dia de espíritu escolar
jueves 10/30- dia de ropa cómoda
viernes 10/31- dia de vestirse como un personaje
El viernes, la clase de su hijo podría tener una celebración de otoño. Si su hijo desea disfrazarse para la ocasión, le pido que siga algunas pautas importantes. Por favor, asegúrese de que no use nada que dé miedo, que le cubra la cara ni que traiga ningún tipo de arma de juguete. Entiendo que algunos no quieran que sus hijos participen en las actividades de la celebración del otoño. Si ese es el caso, por favor, comuníquese con nosotros con anticipación y su hijo será excusado de clases. Gracias de nuevo por todo lo que hacen para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes. Me alegra mucho ver a tantos estudiantes venir a la escuela listos para aprender y sé que es gracias a su esfuerzo. ¡Gracias!
