Dear Allen Families,
I want to wish you a Happy January. I know that it is hard to believe, but we are halfway through this school year. I would like to let you know that the end of the semester is January 24, 2025 for all 7th and 8th grade students and this day will be a half day for them. This allows time for their teachers to finalize their grades so that they can be sent home by the end of the following week. That said, all kindergarten through 6th grade students work from a trimester schedule and will attend a full day on that day. Their next grading period will end in March.
In other big news, on Thursday, January 16th, all parents/guardians of students currently in Kindergarten through 7th Grade will receive an email message communicating information on each student’s school placement for the 2025-2026 school year. Parents/guardians will also receive this letter via US Mail. This letter will likely arrive in mailboxes on Friday or Saturday, January 17th or 18th. If you do not receive the email or the US postal mail delivery, then you can email the district via our district email: questions@be.wednet.edu, or call our district office at (360)757-3311.
Here at Allen, we will be giving an opportunity for our students who are currently in kindergarten through 4th grade to request placement in our dual language program that will be housed at Allen next year. Any parent, regardless of home language, will be offered this opportunity. In fact, on January 23, 2025, the district will host an information and registration session for parents that are interested in learning more about this program. This meeting will be in the Allen Elementary school library from 6:30 - 7:30. If you are interested, we hope to see you there.

Estimadas familias de Allen,
Quiero desearles un feliz enero. Sé que es difícil de creer, pero estamos a mitad de este año escolar. Me gustaría informarles que el final del semestre es el 24 de enero de 2025 para todos los estudiantes de 7.º y 8.º grado y este día será medio día para ellos. Esto les da tiempo a sus maestros para finalizar sus calificaciones para que puedan enviarlas a casa al final de la semana siguiente. Dicho esto, todos los estudiantes de jardín de infantes a 6.º grado trabajan según un cronograma trimestral y asistirán un día completo ese día. Los padres/tutores también recibirán esta carta por correo postal. Es probable que esta carta llegue a los buzones el viernes o sábado 17 o 18 de enero. Si no recibe el correo electrónico o la entrega por correo postal de EE. Aquí en Allen, les daremos una oportunidad a nuestros estudiantes que actualmente están en el kinder hasta el cuarto grado de solicitar una ubicación en nuestro programa de lenguaje dual que se llevará a cabo en Allen el próximo año. A cualquier padre, independientemente del idioma que hablen en el hogar, se le ofrecerá esta oportunidad. De hecho, el 23 de enero de 2025, el distrito organizará una sesión de información y registro para los padres que estén interesados en obtener más información sobre este programa.
