4th Grade: Mrs. Buben
Welcome back to school!
I am very excited to have you in my fourth grade class. It will be a year filled with engaging academics, lots of fun, hard work, enriching field trips and growth for you as a lifelong learner! I believe each student is a unique individual with their own needs and gifts to share. We will work hard together as a class to get to know each other's interests & talents, as well as, help each other grow. There will also be opportunities for you to take charge of your own learning and explore topics that you feel passionate about.
I feel communication between home and school is an essential part of student success. Please contact me by email or phone with any questions you have throughout the year. (It is often much easier to reach me by email.) Every Monday students will update their class calendars with assignment due dates and then take all their corrected work or other notes home on Fridays. A class newsletter will be sent out on the first Friday of each month.
I want to share a little information about myself to help you get to know me.
First of all, I love being part of Bay View!! I have received a Master’s Degree in Literacy Education, a B.A. in Developmental Psychology, and participated in a five year Math Education Partnership program with WWU.
I really enjoy teaching fourth graders! We have fun making friends, bringing history to life, taking adventures through stories, using inquiry skills to solve problems, and collaborating together as a team.
My husband and I have three adventurous daughters. We also have an Australian Shepard/Lab mix puppy and a tabby cat named Max. We call our dog Silly Millie! I spent the summer enjoying the outdoors with my family as we camped, hiked, swam, and canoed.
I hope you had a chance to have fun and play in the hot sunshine this summer
