Library Idea of the Week
November 3, 2003
Cathy Belben, Burlington-Edison High School Library

My principal gave the o.k. for me to request donations of specific books for our high school library in an "adopt a book" program. I put together a flyer listing the books we'd like to have donated, the cost of the books, and the specifics for donation. I'll have these available at my table on parent conference night, and later in the year, I'll be posting it in the parent newsletter. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has tried this or something similar. Did it work? How well? What problems did you encounter?

This year's wish list:
Albom, Mitch. The Five People You Meet in Heaven. (Fiction)

Armstrong, Lance.  Every Second Counts. (Non-Fiction/Sports)

Blatner, David. The Flying Book: Everything You’ve Ever Wondered about Flying on Airplanes. (Non-Fiction/Science)

Bruchac, Joseph.  Pocahantas. (Young Adult Fiction).

Fisher, Len. How to Dunk a Doughnut:  The Science of Everyday Life. (Non-Fiction/Science)
