Pearson - Fifth Grade

Welcome to Mrs. Pearson's Webpage!

I hope the 5th graders are as excited as I am for the start of school! We will be busy reading, writing, studying history, experimenting in science and learning how to be more independent learners. My class will have PE on Mondays and Wednesdays, so students need to be prepared with PE attire on those days. Music will be Tuesdays and Thursdays. Monday is set aside for library day!
Some parents signed up for November conferences on Curriculum Night, but there are still several spots open. Please email me regarding what time works best for you (please give me options) on November 21, 22, or 25. Thursday, Nov. 21 will extend into the evening. Conferences begin at 1:20 each day and end at 4:00 with Thursday being the exception. Thank you!
Please check the calendar from time to time, as I will list homework and other special events.

Meet The Teacher

Hello everyone,

I thought I would share a little bit about myself. First, I've been a teacher for 29 years! Wow! I began my teaching career on the other side of the bridge, in Mt. Vernon. I taught English at Mt. Vernon High School for several years before making my way to Tiger territory and Allen Elementary, where I taught 7th/8th Grade Language Arts. I eventually ended up here, at Edison Elementary, my home away from home. After teaching 7th/8th Grade Language Arts at Edison for a few years, I took some time off to take care of my family. I am happy to say I am back, at least for this year.
I look forward to meeting the students as well as parents. Please contact me anytime.
