I’m not sure that girls’ athletics of any sort would have made it off the ground if it wasn’t for two extremely dedicated teachers and coaches, Karen Fure and Christie Carder (Peterson). They single handedly took over the athletic program, coaching volleyball, basketball, and track to name a few. Both were great role models for us. They transformed our athletic program from GAA (Girls Athletic Association) where we did who knows what, to organized sports.
