The 2008-2009 school year will be an exciting one for L.U. families, staff, and students. Thanks to strong community support, we opened last school year with a beautiful state-of-the-art learning facility.

We have an amazing staff at Lucille Umbarger School committed to promoting the "whole child". Our student-advocacy groups are going strong and the Make Your Day citizenship program continues to be an integral part of our school culture. We will continue several other enrichment activities this year such as "Math Night", Cinco de Mayo Celebration, The Variety Show, and Family Dances. These events really bring our school community together and we couldn’t do them without tremendous parent and staff support. We are lucky to have both at Lucille Umbarger School.

In sticking with our building mission statement of, "Committed to providing the best possible education for all students", we continue to examine teaching and learning practices at our school.
