PHYSICAL/EARTH SCIENCE (9-12) 1.0 SCI100
Length: Year Lab Science
In this year long introductory course, students will have to opportunity to explore fundamental
concepts in physical, earth and space sciences. Topics will range from basic scientific processes to indepth
study of scientific theories and principles. Specific topics covered are basic chemistry,
geology/earth science, meteorology, physics/motion, astronomy, energy sources and the nature of
science. Labs and in-class activities are designed to help students prepare for the Science WASL.

BIOLOGY (9-12) 1.0 SCI200
Length: Year Prerequisite: "B" or better grade (83%) in previous science required.
This year long course is an introduction to the biological sciences. Using laboratory
investigations and other scientific techniques, we will explore the various fields of biology such as
botany, zoology, genetics, biochemistry, ecology, human anatomy and physiology, taxonomy, and
organic evolution. (Lab Science)

CHEMISTRY – ALGEBRA BASED (10-12) 1.0 SCI300
Length: Year Prerequisites: B or better grade in previous science required and completion or
concurrent enrollment in Integrated Math 2.
General Chemistry is a lab-based course designed for college bound students. The course
covers topics of beginning introductory chemistry. It will include matter and energy, chemical
equations and reactions, chemical calculations, atomic theory, thermodynamics, states of matter, and
properties of solutions. Where necessary, the math required will be taught in class. (Lab Science)

CHEMISTRY, HONORS – ALGEBRA BASED (10-12) 1.0 SCI303

Length: Year
Prerequisite: B or better grade in biology required. Completion or current enrollment in Integrated 3.
Honors Chemistry is a rigorous, accelerated first year chemistry course. It is designed for a
student who is looking for a challenge. It is also meant for students planning to major in a technical
field that requires a solid background in chemistry. Topics included will be the same as Chemistry
with higher expectations and a more rigorous pace. (Lab Science)
