Length: 2 Semesters                    Prerequisite: B Average in previous English courses

First Year Spanish is designed to introduce the student to the basics of the Spanish language. Conversational vocabulary, common expressions, and elementary grammer are included in the course. Also included are insights into the culture, customs, geography, and history of the people fo the Spanish-speaking world. A 9th grade student who has been accepted into the Accelerated program may opt to take a World Language as their one elective course.

SPANISH II  (11-12)                                         1.0 credit            FLA140

Length: 2 Semesters                         Prerequisite: Successfully completed Spanish I

Second year Spanish is a continuation of first year Spanish, in that material taught in the first year is given a complete review at the beginning of the second year. New material is slowly introduced and the student is expected to continue to develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency.
