Mike Buckholz begins his third year as Head Girl’s coach at Burlington-Edison following a seven year stint at Arlington. He also coached boys and girls at Skykomish, the state’s smallest school. He now has 254 career wins at the Varsity level and his teams have made appearances at the state tournament in each of the last 6 years he has coached. Last year the Tigers put together a 21 win season and B-E’s second straight trip to state where the Tigers took 7th place. He teaches Global Studies, 20th Century History and Psychology at Burlington-Edison High School.

Junior Varsity Coach Ryan Wallace attended school in the Burlington-Edison School District from kindergarten through high school, attending Allen and Bay View Elementary, graduating from Burlington-Edison High School in 2000. He attended Pacific Lutheran University during his first year of college and transferred to Western Washington University in 2001. In his four years at Western, he earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary education in general science/earth science, graduating in 2005.

Coach Wallace has taught science at B-EHS for two years, teaching physical earth science, biology, and chemistry. He has coached track and field for five years, working as the hurdle/sprint/relay coach. He also coached basketball at the elementary/middle school level for two years at West View Elementary and has worked as a 7th/8th grade district basketball referee for the past four years. This will be his first year coaching girl’s basketball at B-EHS. He is very excited for a very rewarding and successful basketball season.

  Darcy Taylor is recognizable as the Tiger’s Varsity Softball Coach and now begins her first year as the Freshmen Girls Basketball Coach. She is a graduate of Western Washington University where she played softball on the National Championship team of 1998. Darcy was also selected as the Vikings team captain and graduated with a degree in psychology. Darcy graduated from Monroe High School in 1997, where she participated in softball, soccer and basketball. Darcy has been the Head Softball Coach at Burlington-Edison since 2002.
