Traditionally, school tests assessed the students knowlege of facts and skills. However, success in today's world requires higher-level thinking skills. On the WASL, students will be asked to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information. They will be asked for their best answer, supported by information given to them in the test. They will be asked to compare (look for likenesses) and contrast (look for differences) information they read. In math, students will not only have to show that they know algebraic formulas; they will have to show that they can apply those formulas to solve real-world problems.

The links below will provide assistance in understanding what will be expected on the 10th Grade WASL.
