Gudgel, Activities Director

Welcome to Burlington-Edison High School. We have an extremely rich tradition of success athletically, academically, and in the many activities and clubs our students are involved in. Burlington High School (First Class 1910) was combined with Edison High School in 1943. These two schools and communities have formed the foundation for our success. Some of the more notable B-E history: Newscaster Edwin R. Murrow (Edison Graduate), NFL Hall of Famer Mel Hein (Burlington 1927), Football Jersey retired by UW, Roland Kirkby (BEHS 1947), 1st "B" painted on Burlington Hill 1921, Football coach Glenn Rickert 1956-89 (Most wins in state history at 272). As a school we have won over 20 state championships.
Today we have started new traditions. From our award winning NJROTC and debate teams, to our outstanding music and drama departments, we have it all. Our DECA and FBLA clubs are among the best in the state and our FFA, VICA, TSA clubs consistently win awards wherever we go. Our students continue to have innovative new ideas while maintaining traditions such as our Homecoming Parade down main street. Come and visit BEHS, you won't be disappointed.
Sincerely,
Kevin Gudgel
