Dear Parents and Community Members,
Welcome to Burlington-Edison High School, “Home of the Tigers.” Burlington-Edison is a 2A High School, grades 9-12, located 1.5 hours north of Seattle on the I5 corridor. Our school is nestled between the beautiful bay and the Cascade mountain range. Our community has been predominately agricultural based, but is now experiencing a tremendous growth in retail and small manufacturing businesses. Burlington-Edison has experienced wonderful support from our community over the years. Our community attends the numerous activity events, allocates thousands of dollars in scholarships every year to our graduating seniors and work hard to pass our bonds and levies, raise money for projects and volunteer to serve as panelists for our senior exit presentations and by hosting on juniors during their job shadow experiences. The high school is fortunate to have the continued support of our parents and community. The success of our students depends on the commitment all of us make toward quality education.
The teachers and staff at B-EHS are committed to providing a quality education and experience to our students. B-EHS staff have been involved over the past few years in aligning our curriculum to the state standards, establishing summative and formative assessments, collaborating on various educational topics, developing WASL-like rubrics and assessments and implementing powerful teaching and learning strategies across all discipline areas. It is an exciting time in education with a lot of hard work being conducted by our staff. B-EHS is also in its 11th year of the PAWS (Portfolio of Academic and Work Skills) Program which is a 4-year culminating project for all students. We are also in our 6th year of our Mentorship program and currently have over 100 upper classmen serving as mentors to our 300+ 9th grade students.
B-EHS offers a variety of clubs and activities for our students and believe strongly that the more students can be positively involved in school the better their attitude is towards school, the better their attendance is at school and the higher their grades are. B-EHS has experienced a great deal of success both in and out of the classroom. Activities include FFA, FBLA, FACSE, DECA, VICA, TSA, Drama, Band, Choir, NJROTC, ASB, Debate, Key Club, Multi-cultural Club to name a few. We have some 700 of our 1200 students participating in WIAA activities throughout the year.
We are extremely proud of our students and staff and continue to work toward educational excellence.
