Here's an affordable and fun way to promote reading and books. March 2 is Dr. Seuss's 100th birthday, and we've invited elementary school students over to be read aloud to by high school kids. We're fortunate to have one of our elementary schools right next door, so that eliminated transportation costs. High school and elementary students are bringing books to share (not just Dr. Seuss books), and I'm providing some, too. We're ordering cookies from our school's food service program. It should be fun!

Our celebration was great! We invited a special presenter, Mr. Tom
Caldwell, to recite Dr. Seuss's book The Lorax, from memory. We
