Library Idea November 4, 2002
A quick way to keep up a positive rapport with teachers, encourage use of the library, and reward students who work well independently in the library is to send a quick note to teachers following a visit by one (or a few) of their students. I do this randomly after students' visits and always receive positive comments from teachers. Here's the form I use:
Independent
Student Report
Student:_______________________________________Period:______________
Teacher:_______________________________________Date:_______________
While
using the library today, the above student:
_____
Exhibited a high
degree of responsibility.
_____ Was
on task and used time productively.
_____ Helped other students accomplish tasks.
_____
Was polite and respectful to library staff.
_____ Read/studied quietly.
_____
Completed his/her assignment.
Thanks
for sending such great workers to the library!
