To maintain a record of my contacts with teachers (one of my goals is at least one contact with every staff member about something this year), I have an index card file on my desk, with one card for each teacher. Every time I make contact with a teacher--specifically to collaborate, share an idea, distribute a book or article they might find interesting--I write the date and make a note about the contact on the index card with that teacher's name. Also, for my staff members who read and borrow books for personal leisure reading, I make a note of their favorites on their card, as well, and that helps me know what to recommend when they roll in here again.
