Power Walking

POWER
WALKING FOR FITNESS (10-12)
Length: 1 Semester
Prerequisite: Passing grade in Physical Education 9 or Weight Training 9
This
class is designed for the student who wants to seriously improve their fitness
level through power walking. Students will use pedometers to record daily
stepping, mileage and caloric expenditure. This data will be recorded on a
daily basis to chart student progress. Class will be structured with three
days of power walking, one day of classroom activity, and one day will be
devoted to active stretching. Students must be wiling to go outside in inclement
weather. Grading is based on participation, conditioning, attitude, effort,
and tests. This class may be repeated for credit.
