ATHLETIC
CONDITIONING (10-12)
Length: 2 Semesters
Prerequisite: Passing grade in Physical Education 9 or Weight Training 9 and
instructor’s permission. Permission slips are available in the counseling
office. Only 2 sections will be offered
This
class is for hard working and highly motivated athletes participating in one
or more extracurricular sports activities. Activities in this class will build
upon the skills learned in Weight Training 9. These include: power lifts (3
days a week), plyometric and agility circuits, stability and medicine ball core
strengthening, and cardiovascular exercise 2 days per week. Grading in this
class is based on participation, conditioning, attitude, effort, assignments,
tests, and written work. This class may be repeated for credit.
