Instructors in the NJROTC program are individuals who enjoy working with students, and who have demonstrated strong leadership capabilities throughout their careers.  They must be retired from active duty, and be certified by the Chief of Naval Education and Training to administer the program.

Captain Butch Bailey, USN, Ret, spent 27 years on active duty and commanded two aircraft squadrons, a carrier air wing, and the west coast A-6 type wing.  He is the Director of Naval Science and responsible for the overall implementation of the program.  Captain Bailey coaches the Armed and Unarmed Drill teams, Color Guard, and coordinates the academic curriculum with both CNET and the high school.

ATC Roger Hull, USN, Ret, spent 24 years on active duty, with the majority of it assigned to Electronic Warfare.  He served in EA-6B squadrons, Naval Air Maintenance Training Detachments, and accumulated over 9 years of certified instructor duty.  Chief Hull is the Naval Science Instructor responsible for all the support functions of the unit, and is a certified NRA marksmanship instructor.  He coaches the Rifle team, Orienteering team, and coordinates Honor Guard duties.  Additionally, he teaches the academic sections for Naval Science 1, and electricity/electronics for Naval Science 3.
