Lincoln Douglas Debate:

Lincoln-Douglas Debate is a type where there are two students who create a case and compete against each other on philisophical values. The twist in this style is that you have to develop a case for both sides of the topic. This type was created in 1858 when Abraham Lincoln and Stephen A. Douglas debated against each other during a presidental debate.

 

Policy Debate:

Policy Debate is a debate where two teams have a topic and they develop a case based on the evidence that they look at. Topics usually call for a change in government.
