Description:
English II is a year-long course for high school students who
have successfully completed English I. This course is designed
to present a wide range of reading experience with print for literacy,
informational, persuasive and practical purposes, to understand
the human experience. Students will use writing-to-learn and writing-to-demostrate
strategies as well as the writing process to write in a variety
of forms and for mulitple audiences and purposes.
Students will also create products and develop ideas in a
written/oral response. Students will make sense of a variety of
messages and apply techniques for effective speaking to communicate
ideas and information. Finally, the student will use a variety of
resources, methods, research tools, and emerging technology to
learn, communicate, and express ideas and information for a variety
of authentic purposes and audiences.
The mid-term
examination should be taken after Unit 3.
The final
examination should be taken at the completion of the
course. |
