School Calendar:

 

January 26      This is a full day for 7-8; it is a half day for 9-12 only.

 

                      7/8 Dance at L.U. from 5:30-7:30.

 

January 29     There will be no school on this day for 7-12 students only (mid-year 7-12   staff planning day).

 

Evening Basketball: During evening basketball, please make sure that all students are remaining in the gym, unless being supervised in the hallways by parents. Thanks for your cooperation.

 

Elks Hoop Shoot: Congratulations to the 2007 Elks Hoop Shoot champions of Edison School.  These student/athletes have been invited to shoot free throws in competition with other students from around the county in the Skagit County Hoop Shoot Championship at Mount Vernon High School.

“The Mystery of the Orient”

March 24th, 4:00pm-8:00pm

 

Decorations: 

  • Please have each student bring a piece of origami paper (scrapbook paper works too) or a pre-made piece of origami to their teacher by January 26th.
  • Chicken Wire: Clean or unused pieces of chicken wire are needed to create a tube 12’x1’.  Please contact Renee at school if you can help.

 

Donations:  The carnival committee is actively seeking donations for the raffle and bingo.  If you or your business would like to donate, please contact Jane Hubrig at 766-5018. Charitable contribution receipts will be issued to all donors.  All donations must be received by February 28.

Reader Board – Want to help keep Edison families and the community informed?  We are looking for a person(s) to take on this important task.  We will train you!

 

 Easy Money

·         Cartridges for Kids is throwing a pizza party for the grade level that collects the most ink cartridges, cell phones, laptops, and PDAs.  Both classes in the grade level will be competing with grades K-8.  The deadline for this competition is February 28th.   The other items we collect will go toward the usual room competition and popcorn certificates will be awarded to the winning class who brings in the most box tops and labels.

·         DIRECTV will donate $100 for every parent, friend, neighbor or colleague who activates DIRECTV service for one year. The code for Edison is 3566.  If you are already a subscriber and plan to commit to one more year, call DIRECTV 4 Schools at 1-888-388-4724 and tell them you want to keep your subscription for another year and give them this code.  Use this code for a new subscription as well.   

·         Do you have a Target Visa?  Choose Edison Elementary as your designated school and Target will donate 1% of your purchases at Target and Target.com and 1/2% of purchases made elsewhere with your Target® Visa®.  There is no limit to this fundraiser. 

·         Box Tops 4 Education – Keep sending them in!   Enter to win 10,000 Box Tops for Edison Elementary:  Simply go to http://www.boxtops4education.com/pappalos/ and follow the prompts.  10,000 Box Tops are equivalent to $1000.00!   Each household can enter once every day for a chance to win.  The contest ends February 9, 2007.

·         Tyson’s Food, the Project A+ fundraiser.  Each Project A+ label is worth $0.24, we can earn as much as $12,000.

Burlington Edison Little League will be holding final sign-ups Wednesday, January 24th from 6pm-8pm at the Burlington Community Center and Saturday January 27th from 3pm-5pm at our baseball clinic at Lucille Umbarger. Late fees will be waived for the January 27th sign up only.
