As many community members are aware, Allen Elementary School has been undergoing a face lift. The new wing which houses the gym, cafeteria, kitchen, stage, and music room opened up after Spring Vacation. The next phase includes "deconstructing" the front of the school. The old office, gym, kitchen, ELL room, and library are now closed and are being transformed into classrooms, a new office, and library. The current office is now located on the west of the building in a portable.
The front of the building is fenced off during the "deconstruction", but parents are still able to drop students off in the front. Buses at Allen now have their own entrance for drop off and pick up.
The final phase of the remodel will take place at the end of the school year and will be done by the first of school in 2004. Keep checking back at this site to keep track of the construction project.
