JOB TITLE:                          Bus Assistant

                                                (Temporary for the remainder of the 2007-08 school year)

 

JOB SITE:                             Bus Garage

 

JOB GOAL:                          To assist in providing safe transportation for students with special needs and/or behaviorally troubled conditions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:           Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent combination of education,

                                                training, and experience that provides desired skills and abilities. Preference for person with experience working with elementary-age children in a school setting.  Must exhibit a genuine liking for and understanding of students with special needs.  Ability to be fair and consistent when working with children.  Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with students and staff.  Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information.  Current first aid and CPR training.

 

                                               

EMPLOYMENT                  1 hr/day, Monday-Friday, 2:30-3:30 p.m.   178 days during the school year.

TERMS:                                Ability to pass Federal/State criminal history background clearance and all other mandated clearances.  This position is part of the local bargaining associations.  Salary range:  $11.72 – 13.45 per hour or per negotiated agreement.  When hiring and promoting personnel, consideration is given to experience and performance in developing effective parent, family and community partnerships.  Individuals on layoff status who meet job requirements, shall receive first consideration for newly posted positions within the appropriate job classification.
