In the Burlington-Edison School District, retirement plans consist of the following: Teachers Retirement System (TRS), Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and School Employees Retirement System (SERS). Based on when membership is established, employees can be members of plan 1, plan 2 or plan 3.
For each employee eligible to be enrolled, hours and compensation are reported and contributions are deposited monthly to the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS).
